Our technology
Our instrument the Environmental Toxic Analyzer is based on QCM technique which basically is about to measure a quartz crystals (chip) frequency with high precision. By different kinds of treatment to the crystal surface a specific compound can be trapped and fasten on the surface. This results in a frequency change of the crystal. The frequency is logged and small anomalies in frequency can be detected.
This technique makes it possible to measure tremendously small amounts of compounds in real time. It is also achievable to follow the chemical processes kinetics. Compounds that are not allowed to be heated can be studied with this method as the QCM technique not requires heating before analysis which is common praxis in most analysis methods. We have made it possible to use the QCM technique as a competitive method for analysis within the environ-mental toxic market area. Today we focus on mercury and arsenic. The number of compounds available to detect with the Envic-Sense Environmental Toxic Analyzer will increase steadily.
The Envic-Sense Environmental Toxic Analyser comprises a continuous flow cell in which all chemistry is integrated. This concept provides extremely high sensitivity since the response is integrated for every time the sample passes the sensor. The continuous flow cell is a dis-
cardable unit. After analysis the continuous flow cell is replaced with a new. Thus no cleaning procedures between the analyses are required and the risk for contamination between samples is eliminated.
